Daniel J. Patterson, PE&LS
Owner
Dan is a graduate of the Rutgers University School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He is also a graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology & Land Surveying.
Mr. Patterson has been licensed in the State of New Jersey as a Professional Engineer since 2013 and as a Professional Land Surveyor since 2012. He is in charge of day to day company operations and personally supervises all fieldwork and plan preparation conducted at the company. He has provided professional, expert testimony at numerous land use boards throughout the state and has assisted in getting approvals for projects both large and small.
Eric Steeber
Land Survey Manager
Eric joined Patterson Surveying & Engineering in 2025. He has worked in the surveying and engineering profession since 1983. He also has executive experience working in municipal government as a mayor, executive officer, and committee chairman. Eric’s duties at PSE include supervising survey field and office staff, reviewing survey work, and providing quality assurance and quality control for finished mapping products.
Ronald Sappie
Senior Engineering Technician
Ronald joined Patterson Surveying & Engineering in 2024. He holds certificates in computer aided drafting and design as well as commercial/residential construction design. Ronald is also proficient with GIS systems and has over two decades of experience working in land development. Ronald is instrumental in the preparation of various types of land surveys and site plans. He is an expert in zoning compliance and the preparation of complex drawings.
Joshua Kornreich
Senior Land Survey Party Chief
Joshua joined Patterson Surveying & Engineering in 2023. He has over two decades of field experience working as a land surveyor. Joshua has initiated and implemented more efficient data collection procedures which were quickly adopted throughout his years of employment. He has improved efficiency for the companies at which he has worked. Having hands-on experience has also strengthened his knowledge of current regulations and standards of safety, quality, service, training and profitability. His roles at PSE include setting and observing survey control, collecting boundary data, topographic data, utility mapping, and construction layout.
Jeff Lawler
Land Survey Party Chief
Jeff joined Patterson Surveying & Engineering in 2025. Jeff has over 12 years of experience in the field of surveying. He has conducted boundary surveys of large and small tracts; he has performed construction layout tasks, and has also performed route surveys for pipelines and other linear projects. Jeff is proficient with robotics and GNSS survey systems.
Jay Smietana
Land Survey Party Chief
Jay joined Patterson Surveying & Engineering in 2023. He has over a decade of field land surveying experience. Jay is a graduate of Rowan University with a Bachelors Degree in Geography and Environmental Studies. He is proficient with robotics and GNSS survey systems, Jay conducts fieldwork and collects data to be utilized on various types of survey projects at the company.
Colin Hubler
Project Engineer
Colin joined Patterson Surveying & Engineering in 2024. He is a graduate of Rowan University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering. Colin's role at the company includes preparing site plans, survey drafting, engineering calculations, and layout calculations. Colin is proficient with civil drafting software and stormwater modeling software.
Quang Nguyen
Project Engineer
Quang joined Patterson Surveying & Engineering in 2026. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Rowan University. He is also certified as an AutoCAD Professional (2024) and a Civil 3D Professional (2024). He has completed various types of surveying and engineering projects including topographic mapping, subdivision plans, and engineering grading designs as well as soil erosion and sediment control plans.
McKenzie Speers
Administrative Assistant
McKenzie joined our team in 2025. Initially brought on to assist with front desk duties and project intake, her role has expanded to include preparing proposals, updating clients on the field crew schedule and project deadlines, along with ensuring project deliverables are sent out correctly and efficiently. McKenzie is also a Registered Notary Public in New Jersey.
Erin Patterson
Bookkeeper and HR Manager
Erin has been with the company since its inception. Her current duties include managing day to day bookkeeping and human resources. She manages the company health plan and other benefits as well as payroll.
